It is with much sadness that I report the passing of Japan's Mahka Tendo from cancer early on the morning of May 26th at the age of 49.
Mahka was known and respected and loved by the magical community all over the world. For many months he fought bravely and strongly, his family at his side.

Many magicians, upon learning of his illness, continued to send him DVDs and e-mailed messages of encouragement. These meant a lot to him. He died knowing that others cared.

This is a very sad news. I met Mahka Tendo in Blackpool last year and he was truly a nice and happy person and very friendly. His handling of multicoloured appearing and disappearing canes with matching silks was one of a kind.

The International gala show at the Blackpool convention has always been excellent and last year Mahka Tendo began the show with his FISM card manipulation act, which was a great way to start the show.

Sending my condolences to his family and friends.

if i had to single out an act as being the best, Mahka Tendo's would be high on the list.
His manipulation act, in particular his jumbo cards, has inspired a generation of japanese magicians. People like shoot ogawa, owe a great debt of thanks to this consumate performer.
May he rest in peace.

my thoughts are with his family and friends, and all those whom had their life touched by the genius that was Mahka Tendo.
