Beginner tip 2: Don't underestamate the power of spongeballs

Hy

Just wanted to share a true story with you guys. Don't know if this is the right section so admins, feel free to move it.

I was at a city in Belgium called 'Hasselt'. There were alot of bands playing all around the city as it was called 'Hasselt Live'. We were sitting in a cafe with the music not to loud and we were talking about all kinds off stuff. There were some people who didn't know i do magic so i was actually waiting for the right moment. The vibes just started to get good when a friend of my girlfriend litterly said something like. 'You know what i hate, i know this guy that does card tricks. It's so irretating.'
I was stunned. Looked at my girlfriend and she looked back at me with a face that i've never seen before. The gutsy dude that i am, I went straigt into the battlefield.
'So you hate magicians?' I asked her
'Yeah i do, they are always like ''pull a card'' Then they find it somewere. Can't they do anything better ?' She answerd.

By that time i really noticed that she got irritated when she was thinking of that magician.
'Do you know any other magicians then him?' I asked
'No thx to god' She said.
'There are some magicians that can do other stuff then only lose a card in a deck you know.' I said
'Like what then ?. She answered

THAT was my go. I went with my guts.
'Euhm like say... Pull a sponge ball out of your ear.' So i did.
'Oh my god, you are a magician, stop doing that i hate magicians i told you.' She freaked out.

'Ok i'll put this right in my hand and it's gone.' I did.

She looked at my hand with the biggest eyes i've every seen.
'DO THAT AGAIN, WERE DID IT GO ???' She yelled
'Behind your ear like always' I replied in my calmest voice. And again pulled from there.

'No way, make it dissapear again' she said.

'No just put it in your hand, squeeze and i'll take another one, ....

I went on with my 4 minutes routine and she was litterly stunned. She haddnd had any alcohol that night but she was leaghing her ass off. Then we moved to the next cafe and we danced the whole night true. After an hour or two she asked me to do another trick.

'I tought you hated magicians' i said
'Yeah but not you, you can do some crazy stuff'.

Then i showed her crazy mans handcuff and coin trough bottle.

She was stunned, next day on live messenger she asked me for some movies about magic. She wanted to learn. I told her
' If you really want to learn, you'll learn' (i knew she just wanted to know how i did it.)

Fact:
SPONGE BALLS ARE THE STRONGEST WEAPON ON EARTH !!! for me

This was a true story. Hope you enjoyed it

I love sponge balls too, they're great fun to perform and to watch. My sponge bunnies routine is probabaly the most popular routine that I do.

I only have two sponge routines, sponge bunnies which for some reason I do very rarely and a two in the hand one in the pocket ending with none in the hand really basic routine. I started to put that in just for the kids, I do a regular pub restaurant table hopping session on a Sunday.

But I have realised that this goes down well with any age group. This thread is a good reminder to me to get my Spongeball Toolbox out again and expand my set!

Sponge ball tool box is great....I have used the the " hold on too my sponge balls for a second and make sure you do not loose them....then after a while i turn back and say u lost them and then pull the yellow won from there ear exclaiming that cotton buds are on offer. (the final bit can be a bit insulting so i only use it for close friends and family) for anyone els I jsut pull a red one out.
