Anyone know Rob James?

Postby themagicwand » Jun 5th, '09, 13:01

I'm working at a gig Saturday night as a palm/tarot reader, and I'll be working alongside a close-up guy called Rob James. Just wondered if anyone knew him or even if perhaps he posted on here? Always nice to meet someone from TM if he does - and it's always interesting to see other people work so you can nick their ideas. Erm, I mean..., get some inspiration....

Yeah, just wondered if he came on here under some cryptic user name. Bit of a long shot, but always worth asking.

Nah, it'll be fun. And I'm doing readings anyway so I'm well within my comfort zone! :D

He looks very good, I'm always a little skeptical of online demos but he looks great.

I know he sometimes posts on the Yahoo magic group. He's a top pro & has performed all over the world.

Hi

I worked with Rob a few years back in Spain when he came over as a guest magician at House of Illusion.

Hes a really nice guy and shared with me some great magic ideas and advice.

When you see him tell him Diamond Dave says "Nice...real Nice"

He'll get the joke!

Best of luck with your gig.

Well the gig went very, very well but sadly I was too busy to even say hello to Rob! I did see him, and he spied me, but i was constantly being hounded by women wanting their palms read! Tis a tough life I lead.

I was supposed to finish at 10.30pm, but as usual i was hounded for more readings and only managed to escape at 11pm. Had a lovely email from the organisers thanking me for all my efforts which is always nice.

So, sadly I missed Rob - though to judge from the gasps of wonder and applause coming from the tables he was working at he did a first class job.

My wife booked him for our wedding as sort of a present for me seeing as the day was mainly centered around her and her massive dress and she thought there should be something that I would enjoy (I was planning to ask him lots of interesting questions to gain insight from a working pro but sadly the speeches and wedding stuff and other responsibilities prevented me, not that I'm bitter).

He was really good and our guests loved him. He managed to get round all the tables in time doing at least something for everyone and then he did a few extra special bits for us at the top table. He left before the speeches and cake though so he missed out on that- more cake for me!
