It is an incredibly personal effect and I have seen it ruined several times by people, including by the guy everyone hates in Davenports, who make an almost joke about it and build up bu**er all.

It really is powerful. I am planning to finish a show with it soon.

I think that's my problem with it, I've seen it done once or twice but it's always delivered as a brief whimsy - to the point where you'd absolutely believe it to be a strange coincidence rather than an example of deft psychological manipulation or whatever. I love it as a plot - in fact, I love any plot along the lines of "whatever you say will be" (to borrow Chan Canasta's perfect phrasing). As much as I find Marc Paul's presentations largely lacking, he does give the effect the space and the gravitas that it so rightly deserves.
