Buchanan Street (Glasgow) Street Performer

Postby MagicBill » Jun 30th, '09, 19:11

Hey - did anyone see the street performer on Buchanan Street today? I am not too sure what his name was (close-up is my field!), but he was quite stocky with slicked back hair - I think he was maybe from the US?
Anyway, I've seen my fair share of street performers, but I was NOT impressed with this guy.
He used crude language and inappropriate jokes (in my opinion) in front of children and made rascist remarks to passers-by!!!!! I couldn't believe it. Basically he made 'kung-fu' noises and gestures at a couple of Chinese boys that were walking by. When they didn't respond he made some comment like 'Not so tough when you're not in the movies, are ya?!' - albeit tongue in cheek, but totally out of order.
His act wasn't much better. 10 minutes in and all I'd seen was the vanish of a lit cigarette (TT) then the transformation of a £5 into a £20 (TT). I left before his 'big finish', but I am guessing that involved a TT too.
Give me Gazzo anyday...

Maybe that could be his tagline, "The Racist Gazzo".
