Master Chef's with Neil Patrick Harris and Max Maven

Postby Infinite » Jul 10th, '09, 17:33

The cooking show Master Chef's had an elimination challenge presented by Max Maven and delivered in the Magic Castle in LA.

It was pretty interesting they decided to give the Chef's each an element of Magic.

Illusion
Surprise
Spectacle
Mystery
etc.

Then asked them to prepare the dish and deliver it to Neil Patrick Harris and his friends at the Magic Castle.

It was pretty interesting to see other professionals use elements of magic to try and tell a story with their cooking.

If anyone gets a chance to catch it I rather enjoyed it.

Would that be Max Maven or someone with a freakishly similar name to Max Maven ?

Sorry if I sounded cocky, but I really genuinely wasn't sure of an existing Max Mavin ( however lame a name that would sound.. :) )

Pardon me I meant no malice :)

Sadly, there are those that do all they can to mimic Max in looks and name... NONE OF THEM come anything resembling "close" to Max on a bad day, as a human being or performer.

Did they serve the meals in dove pans? Tell me they served the meals in dove pans.

Why would anyone want to copy him and think they could pull it off? They must be seriously deluded. There can be only one! :)

No .. no Dove pan.

*SPOILER*

The woman who got Illusion did this steak Tar Tar in some sort of white fibrous plant. The end result was that it appeared to be a scallop and absolutely everyone thought it was until she told them otherwise.

It was a very good illusion.

It will never be as good as Master Chef in the UK though, with John and Greg.

"Those are some deep flavours! Deeeeeep!"

We heard you, Greg...
