FORK IN NEWS

Postby dat8962 » Jul 20th, '09, 18:50

Did anyone hear the news on Radio Five Live this afternoon at around 1pm?

The feature said that UK retailers had reported this year that shoppers buy significantly more forks than they do knives and that a retail specialist had stated that the reason was due to people eating more junk food that didn't need knives.

I think that we know a lot more on this topic than the specialist

That was in the Telegraph today. Probably true. Most ready-meals have the food cut into bite-size bits, so you only need a fork. Fast food only needs fingers.

There are a lot of kids entering school who don't know how to eat from a plate with a knife and fork, sitting at a table. They've just never done it.
