Dirty Deck Principle

Postby El Enielator » Feb 22nd, '05, 05:55

Some helpful tips for getting a dirty deck card, in one night;

-Rub some natural oils on your hands and work them into the card
(This slightly yellows the card and somewhat gives it a different texture)

-Dust your room with the side edges of the card
(Allows you to spot the card when the deck is beveled)

-Never use sharpie or lead to mark it because if it is spotted you cannot use the excuse that you just replaced a missing card with an older card

This key card is explained on Oz Pearlman's "Stealing Pips", yet the idea has probably been around for ages

These tips will just make it much more distinct and easier to use

Yeah you definitley have to find a good effect for it,

There is a strong mentalism one in stealing pips with it, and a good gambler vs magician demonstration. It is definitley good to have in a deck that you carry around.

Dirty Deck

Postby S_adamson1 » Mar 7th, '05, 19:17

Although this sounds like a great idea I find no real need to do this with the cards becuase they are so many other methods of locating the cards that are more impromptu such as pencil dotting. I prefer these methods over the dirty deck because I have never really found a need for being able to locate a card that way. Spotting the bottom card will work just as well. OZ pearlman i think is just looking for his original idea to become more well known, but he doesnt need to cause hes an amazing card magician and his very good at what he does.
