Impromtu metal bending

Postby El Enielator » Feb 25th, '05, 04:19

Does anyone know of some powerful, impromptu, metal bending routines.
Something were there is no preperation involved and you can use a borowed object, without making a switch?

I have never been to interested in learning metal bending, but it is fascinating to watch and am wondering if anyone could get me aquainted with the art.

I could be wrong, but if I remember correctly, Jay Sankey does some work on this....try doing a search for him. Like I said though, my memory may not be that good.....maybe someone else can confirm/deny this!

I mean confirm/deny that Sankey does this, not that my memory is good!

Try on his DVD 22 blows to the head - he does a routine where a spoon is bent under a hanky behind someones back......also there is a tip on there for 'Thumb excercises'...nuff said.

Not too difficult to do impromtu coin bending. Of course you will need to be prepared to do your impromtu act, so it's only impromtu from the specs point of view.

if you use the search facility there are loads of references to metal bending - hopefully some of these will answer your question (or at least give you another 100 questions to ask).

Incidentally - that is good general advice when llooking for information. Some of our newer members may not be aware that there is a search facility (under the TALK MAGIC - the Magicians Forum title) which is extremely useful...

Wouldn't bother Dale! He bills the credit as a "traditional bend technique" and goes on to say how he works out with his 7" rod  still.......he is a cheeky boy nevertheless!

I bet he saw it when i published it on line about 7 years ago at another forum.
Mine reads better though. Its not done behind backs, its done there in front of the spectator, in their lap.

I wont be crediting Jay in the book, when it comes together.

By the way, i get a digital camera on tuesday, so i can finaly get the thing together in some kind of usefull format.

Fingers crossed!
