Movie name - driving me mad!

Postby themagicwand » Jul 22nd, '09, 23:49

What's the name of the latest animated movie in the style of Nightmare before Christmas and Corpse Bride? Tim Burton didn't direct it, but I think he was a producer, and from what I understand it is very much in his stylee. I keep getting the name "Carline" in my head, but that's not right. It's a girl's name, but spelt slightly off. Please put me out of my misery!!! :?

Coraline. It's a great film and I highly recommend it. Not for young kids, though.

Yes, cannot wait!! :D

I spent the last ten years hoping that Sir Tim would get the opportunity to direct one of the Harry Potter movies. That's not going to happen now, and I need therapy. What a missed opportunity.

Oooh that will be good.

If Johnny Depp plays Alice, my wife might even let me see it at the cinema!

Excellent.

Since Pirates of the Carribean I have been able to see all manner of films at the cinema with my wife, regardless of violence content, as long as they contain Mr Depp.

Funny that...

Hope American McGee's Alice can eventually get into production too. I believe Sarah Michelle Geller has the movie rights.

Another movie that looks good is 9.
It's being produced by Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov.
Here's a trailer:

It's based on a short film by Shane Acker so here's that too:

Ooh, I hope they do make a film about American McGee's Alice. Great game, with a lot of strong storyline (especially for a shooter).

Just tried that on Youtube, it says it's not available in my country for copyright reasons.

Wasnt a lot of it shot in Plymouth? Did they make every English actor and crew member wear blindfolds in production?

I'm being a bit wary about this one.

Yes, Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands were great, and Sleepy Hollow is a masterpiece.

But...

Tim Burton's Batman movies should have been spectatcular, but left me cold. I found them painfully dull.

I was so excited when I heard that Tim Burton was remaking Planet of the Apes, only to discover that it stank. I saw the original again sometime later, and it only rubbed in further what a load of dross Burton's version was.

I thought there couldn't be a match better than Tim Burton and Roald Dahl - so when it was announced that he was remaking Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, I thought all my Christmases and birthdays had come at once. It was a big steamy pile of schmaltzy dog's plop.

So Burton should be the man to make Alice in Wonderland. And it should be great. But I'm not holding my breath.
