last night I finally managed to take Lee Smithup on his genourous invite to visit Hitchin in Hertforshire for a night of entertainment and what a great night out it was. It was easily worth the 150 mile round trip from Leamington and it's a trip that I'll be doing again in the not too distant future.
If you're not on Lee's Facebook page or Dolly's Facebook group then log on and sign up to hear of future events.
DollyreMixture is a regular event, last night being the 10th and is a night of Burlesque, comedy, song and of course magic. I almost forgot to mention that they have two bars so they have everything for a great night out.
The club Remix has recently been refurbished and has a great stage, lighting and sound which all of the artists took advantage of.
First up was the house band, Semi Detached, a three piece who got everyone in the mood and who backed the compare for the evening Paul Edwards.
Magic was from Julie Carpenter who performed a good routine wearing a WWII army uniform of all things. Don't you love women in uniform?

Comedy was from Pam Ford and Stephen Carlin who has sime risque lines that were appreciated in some quarters of the audience.
Last but definately not least were the Nickerbocker Glories who each did individual sets as well as the group finale. Great stuff girls - despite the sudden increase in the ole blood pressure - phew!

Lee was a perfect host who kept checking all was OK between the jobs that he had around the club. His magic was great and inparticular his card stuff was top notch with one of the best passes that I've seen.
There was still lots of time to chat and show a few tricks here and there and we were also joined throughout the night by a number of local magicians and hypnotists. Great people and great conversation to round off a marvelous evening.
The next event is atthe end of September but I'll be away for that night so I hope to see you for the one after that.
Thanks Lee!
