Someone has put Derren Browns The Devils Picture Book on youtube

I know theres not much we can do about piracy on youtube but, please leave a message there asking him to remove it.

(The vids in question have since been taken down)

An email to Mr Brown's website might help, as I'm sure the man himself will have something to say about this - perhaps even to his lawyers.

Actually if you flag it as pirated it will get removed.

Youtube reacts to copy right violations.

I wouldn't worry about it, Derren's legal team seems to be even sharper than he is.

I just got this message form the guy on youtube -

Derren made The Devil's Picturebook voluntarily. Mainly for aspiring magicians.
I'm not giving away any of his secrets.
If we would follow your thinking, his book was a owngoal/suicide? I read it and it contains many tips to many his tricks.

Derren didn't do anything of the sort, it was only available via his website once a password had been worked out and entered, a fairly high sum of money paid and the purchaser going through a significant waiting period. If that guy's thinking was right, it would have been on sale in all the local DVD/Video shops right away. As for dragging the books into it, that's typical of a feeble excuse to justify wrong doing. Glad to see the vids have been taken down, now the guy ought to be sued and/or fined for breaching copyright laws.

That is the most ludicrous excuse I have ever heard. He was better off keeping his mouth firmly shut.

I'd be interested to know where this little scrotum got his hands on it in the first place. If he bought it through Derren's website and he's decided to give it away to anyone, then he obviously has money to burn as well as a complete lack of respect. If he's managed to get a copy from somewhere else (read: illegally) then there is a slightly larger issue at hand for Derren's team of lawyers to worry about.

(Does anyone else have in their mind a sort of Mr Burns situation where Derren presses a button on his desk and the wall moves to reveal 10 stern looking legal types ready to kick butt? )

Although, I don´t want to delve into any "copyright in the digital age" discussion but seeing as the Internet is no "terra incognita" for me. I can confirm that as with any copyrighted material that can be digitally distributed, magic videos and books are no exception.

We know it's easy to do but it's legally and morally wrong. The DVD will have wording on it about copyright so this guy freely chose to ignore that and he should now get his deserved rewards - hefty fines and confiscation of any equipment used in distribution.

I personally think it would be quite fitting if he was locked in a dark room with Mr Brown just staring at him for about an hour.

Of all the excuses I've seen & heard attempting to justify piracy, that's got to be the lamest. You mean no one actually forced Derren to shoot the video?!? I'm shocked - SHOCKED!!!
