Hello all,

Stumbled upon this site ever so often and thought it might be good to join an online magic community, and this one seemed active enough.

Short intro, been practising magic for about 2 years, with intend to perform that is. Before that I dabbled with some sleight of hand now and again.

My main troubles now are lack of experience performing, overcoming my nerves, both physical and mental and "routine-ing". Some tricks go well without trembling, some don't; whether I can do them blindly or not.
My current goal is to focus on developing a 10 to 15 minute routine and invite friends over for diner and a show. ;)

Other info, magician-wise, I hope you'll find out in time.

Raoul

Hi Raoul,

Welcome to the Forum. Don't worry too much about the nerves. No magician has ever began their performing career without nerves. If they say they have - they're lying! (or they've drank a bottle of whiskey before each show....which I wouldn't recommend)

The nerves slowly disapear over time. Give it a few years (trust me, magic takes over your life once you get into it, so you've got years of time left to become more confident). Your approach to starting off small is a very good idea too. Alot of new magicians cause themselves more trouble than they should by tring to learn too much, too fast.

You'll find some very helpful people on here if you have questions / ideas to share (no exposure's though)....and we even have a few highly seasoned professionals with decades of experience who could help steer you in the right direction if needed.

All the best. Tyler

Thanks for the warm welcome.

The forum is still a bit overwhelming even without access to the restricted areas. So kudos for the heaps of useful and interesting info you have amassed.
