I would never accept a tip at a wedding or party the only time I accept tips is if I work a street as its the only time you do not have a set wage.

I take beer! all the time :) ah wait that's on the street. And yes magic and beer does mix!

At a wedding though, not that I've done many weddings but any paid engagement I always make sure the guests know I'm there as the entertainment for the night so tipping doesn't become an issue. If it does I brush it off with a business card and that my fee is covered by X Y or Z

I used to be a private hire chauffeur/limo driver, and had a simple philosophy about tipping that I have carried forward into magic.

Treat everyone like they are special and make absolutely no attempt to hustle tips.

That way, you'll get some. People aren't stupid, and they hate being pushed.
