Is ultrasmoke still the one?

What sort of smoke production?

A flash appearance just use black powder but I don't think that would feel too good in one's hand.

Infact, just as powerful as Ultra Smoke 2000. Is that the only one on the market?

Never heard of the system so I can't say.

My question would be "How and Where do you want to use the smoke effect?"

There are many non-pyro methods available that can actually give you a better "cloud" of (what appears to be) Smoke. Given the growing issue all of entertainment is facing when it comes to pyro related use, it would be best to look into things from that point of view rather than the other.

The other thing you must bear in mind that in order to LEGALLY use pyro in your shows, at any level, you need certification if not an actual license (which takes a couple of years to earn). Again, this is becoming a huge issue in today's world no matter how innocent or simple the usage. Technically Speaking(and especially if you are working a Union controlled house) you need a pyro-tech on payroll if you're just working with lit cigarettes on stage... I'm not kidding, I've seen the point pushed a few times.

I think you owe it to yourself to do some research on this point before making any sort of investment. Too, if there are some specific ways you wish to use smoke, drop me a PM and maybe I can give you some alternate resources. This is something I'd rather not discuss on the boards in that too many young people have a fascination with things that blow up and burn but lack the maturity required when it comes to working with such things.
