Contact Juggling Sale Question

Postby Ian The Magic-Ian » Sep 8th, '09, 22:12

Hello all,

I have a question which I can't answer and was hoping someone could for me.

I have a 70mm clear acrylic contact juggling ball that is free of chips and scratches (Or at least visible scratches) and I haven't gone through long hours of practice with it, but have played with it a couple times (hehe) and a book on contact juggling.

It's called: "Contact Juggling" by James Ernest. Spiral plastic comb bound in slightly used condition but not in a tarnished condition; second edition.

What would be a good price to sell these at in a bundle? I don't want to price it to high but I don't want to give it away either...

Any help would be great.

The Earnest book (which is excellent) is 20 dollars new, and a 70mm acrylic can be got for the same price. Given a 50% reduction for second hand kit I would offer them at the 20 dollar mark.

having said that, it would be worth your while to learn, just for the heck of it. However, you don't want to learn with an acrylic - get a 100mm stage ball and start with that.

Take care, Ian

Keep it! I still have my first 70mm acrylic kicking about, it's scratched to hell but i save it for practising, rather than dropping my performance ball.

Given that, if you know where you're looking, you can get a new acrylic for not a lot of money I wouldn't, personally, spend more than a fiver buying something i would never go performing with.

a tenner for the ball and book would seem fair to someone starting out and just having a practise. But then I do my contact juggling with cheap-ass hippies so if you can get more for it, go for it!

if you go to your local pound shop,( Im sure you have these places in the states) and buy a fancy tea light holder, then sit the ball into it, you could probably flog it as a crystal ball for more.

you're like Yoda.you dont say much, but what you do say is worth listening to....
