Put on your special lobster costume and walk to the table asking: Do you order the lobster ?

You won't be confused with the waiter.

From what I have read and observed (not performed on tables myself) is that the first table should be the only table that is difficult to approach. If you get plenty of ooh's and ahhh's from the first table you should be able to see which tables nearby are paying attention, they may even come and stand near the table you are performing at. Slightly loud groups of young ladies would probably be my first choice to start but then that has little to do with the magic...

I find that casually walking around just shuffling a deck will usually raise some interest.

Look for the people that show the most interested or the ones that lean over and whisper Magician to a friend...and then say close to that table

"Magician, did i hear someone say Magician, Indeed I am etc" and theres your in....proceed with

"do u like magic, here let me show you something"

On my right side Joe the Lobster is coming to your table, on the left side James the cardman is shuffling a deck of cards.
Guess who receives the best attention... :D

I'm sure this whole subject has been discussed many times before on TM? Perhaps the search function is the way to go?
