Dundee meets every 2 weeks, its quite a small club with only maybe 10 or 15 folks at the meetings and is quite informal, maybe half those attending are "hobbyists" like meself

. interested people are allowed to visit 3 times before officially joining. I didnt have to do an audition as such to get in but i had performed various effects to club members at meetings and proved i had a keen interest in magic and not just "wanting to know how its done" but i know that some have had to audition. Costs are very reasonable, £10 a year membership and a donation of £1 per meeting for the tea boat!
Advantages (in my opinion)
Gives you a captive audience to bounce ideas off,
Allows you to pick up tips and hints from like minded people
a club library which has a selection of video/dvd/books
allows you to attend lectures from visiting magi
stops me from boring Mrs mog rigid by constantly asking "pick a card!" etc
cant actually think of much in the way of disadvantages actually.
