Name of Trick - Blaine Special/Dynamo

Postby RobMagic » Sep 13th, '09, 17:40

Ok I don't ask these questions often and they might not be commercial things BUT

What was the name of the lottery prediction trick that he performed in his special on Friday night.

I think Dynamo performed this lottery trick as well in his close up act at International.

Thanks in advance and please no replies saying I haven't looked for this because I have. I probably can't find it as it's not available but it's worth an ask

Kind regards

On second thoughts, is this not Anthony Owens natural lottery?

http://tvmagic.co.uk/tvmagicshop/produc ... 39eb9126a9

there's lots of ways to do this though, some old, some even older...

one thing though, if the general public are unconvinced by derren now, and magicians even more so - why do people now suddenly want to predict the lottery? just curious!

everyone's reference point will now be "derren brown"...I'm not moaning, just fascinated by how people think about things... :D

Osterlind also has an effect that does the same thing and is only cheaper. I think it's on his Mind Mysteries DVD. Which runs you about 40 bucks.

I don't think Natural Lottery is quite the same.

The original natural lottery is not the same, nor is the the half dozen other lottery predictions I have, LOL.

However Owen has stated that the talkmagic one that come with the wallet for £100 has a variation that allows a production of a ticket that actually has the numbers as the lottery ticket, not just the n*****s w******n at t*e b****m

On the verge of buying it, but will be excercising distance seller rights I think if it doesnt

Is certainly a cool trick - would be interested to see how good the TVMagic one is.....

On a similar note - Blaines presentation of Extreme Burn was great on that special but did anyone else think it was just a little bit tasteless 'turning $1 bills into $100 bills' in the middle of post-Katrina New Orleans? It's a little point but if my house had been torn down or devasted by floods, I think I'd have held Blaine in place and demanded he produce enough money to rebuild my entire neighbourhood!

As I say, just a small point and I really hope I don't offend anybody by saying it. Otherwise is was a great TV special.

He gave away the hundred dollar bills was my impression of it.

That's true - although I still can't help feeling that giving a few hundred dollars to one family seems a bit odd in the circumstances.......

As I say, it was just a small point - and I was posting Veeery early this morning... maybe I was just being a little oversensitive.

The bill effect was rather nice, and it was a variation on the first trick he did with the 3 xes on the palm.
It looked like it used the same special something anyways.
that, and the preparation used in the signature on dollar bill effect he featured in an early special, ( and which appears in one of the A.O.A books)

you're like Yoda.you dont say much, but what you do say is worth listening to....

Yes he did Extreme Burn, tho he most likely worked it so he was able to give them away.

He only appeared to give three away... you never actually saw him give the fourth bill away - he just turned to the fourth spectator before the camera cut away :-)
