pardon that brief trip down memory lane. :)

If you are after something very specific, you might try contacting Tom Lauten, because he might have someone that can help you out.. Bearing in mind that he is in the special f.x game.
Otherwise googling Puppet Makers might be usefull.

Ive seen some wonderful items comming out of Czech republic on line. Pricy, but very individual

If you saw a guy on the last series of x factor use a pavarottii figure, that was one of theirs.

Ill see if i can find a link.

Bespoke Vent Dolls

Postby Allen Tipton » Sep 15th, '09, 14:37

Arguably perhaps but my friends the late Val Andrews & the late Terri Rogers always swore by
Geoff Felix,
111, Raglan Court,
Empire Way,
Wembley Park,
Middlesex. HA9 ORG

You will have to check if this is still his address.
They also, when visiting my home, mentioned

W. Botley, 13, Eynsham Drive, Abbey Wood, London SE29 QX.

This because one time I considered getting a new figure. My first doll, 'Nutty', who looks like Arthur Prince's 'Jim', had been with me since 1945, when my parents bought him second hand. He even played Opportunity Knocks with Hughie Green in 1949 at Dudley Hippodrome. Hughie then invited us onto the OpK's programme, in 1950 on Radio Luxembourg.
However Nutty soldiered on till my wife created another partner (Joe Soap) from a Rugrats puppet. Much lighter, but Joe too has, in the past 4 years been replaced by the Axtell Talking Picture.

And, stupidly,in 1968, I gave away, to a would be 14 year old vent, a Len Insull figure bought from Davenports!!!!!!!!!!!

You might also send for the Vent catalogue, from The Maher Studiios, PO Box 420, Littleton Colorado, 80160-0420 USA
www.maherstudios.com

FINALLY: do contact Trevor Burch, ( founder of the British Assocn. of Ventriloquists) Willow Cottage, 110, Davids Drive, Wingerworth, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. S42 6TS

Trevor always recommended the Maher Studios &
the Selberg Studios-- www.selbergstudios.com

You know, if you feel the need to give Nutty away, Ill give him a lovely home. One of the things i really want for myself one day, is what i call a propper vent figure.

Steve Axtell will work with anyone in creating a custom puppet but it's not an inexpensive process.
