Hi all,

Was thinking of heading to the Open Wand night to try out some stand-up mentalism - 1st Sunday of each month in the Cellar Door club in London's Aldwych (www.cellardoor.biz). Just wondered if anybody here had been down and could give a quick 'performers' view of the venue/crowd/overall fee of the place.

Essentially an open mic spot compered by Christian Lee - he tells me via email that it's a very friendly night.

Any opinions would be greatly received!

I've not been, but from what I've read, it looks absolutely fantastic. I'd love to have a go at that.

Well - judging by the dearth of replies it looks like it must fall to me to dip my toe into the water for the good of the group!

I hereby declare that I'll do my damndest to make the next Open Wand night on October 4th.

Maybe we should arrange a little get-together for the London-based TM'ers that night.......?

i've been there to watch a show before (non magic) - all i can tell you is that the venue is very small (holds around 50-60 and it'll be crammed at that) - but a very nice place, strong cocktails - and last time i was there, mirrors on one wall...

Thanks for that - should be OK though, was planning on a few mentalism routines I've been working on putting together. Apparently, they look for routines of around 5-10 mins, so was hoping to hone my audtion routine for the Magic Circle!
