Rama Deck 'Out of this world'

Postby fishistheice » Sep 26th, '09, 10:47

Hi all

I've just dug out my old Rama deck to have a play around with it, and I noticed an insert saying that there is a free OOTW effect [plus other effects] on the Rama Deck forums... sadly the forums seem to be defunct now, so I was wondering if anyone knows of any way of accessing these bonus effects, or if they have simply been lost now that the forum has gone? The OOTW trick intrigues me in particular... :D

Cheers

Sorry to hear the forum is defunct. I (fairly) recently bought a Rama deck and was hoping to have a look online some time.

Still, just knowing an OOTW is possible must be three-quarters of the way there. Have to start playing around with it.

Personally, the only version of OOTW that's ever grabbed me is the one that Eugene Burger demonstrates on his Exploring Magical Presentation DVD.

It appealed to me simply because it's an impromptu, any deck, no set-up version. And it's bold as brass.

I'm of the opinion these days that I only want to carry one deck of cards with me when I perform, so stacks are impractical and trick decks are a pain in the neck. This has to be a deck that can get shuffled ad nauseum, lose signed cards to my wallet whenever I feel like it, and still serve for the whole gig.

The impromptu version plays beautifully and elegantly, and never fails to get a round of dropped jaws. I love it.

Derren Brown's OOTW is probably my favourite version. Well worth checking out if you can spare the £35 for his superb DVD.

Mine too. It's a good "learner" handling too - a bold move covered by an offbeat, a good lesson.
