I recently bought a Magical Hotrod by MagicMakersInc. Though the transformations of not just one, but two colors are very visual and leave the persons 'in the know' of the standard Hotrod guessing a bit, I feel this could be a better. The one I bought was of semi-good quality. I would feel a bit uncomfortable passing this out for inspection afterward due to the 'gimmic' not seating correctly every time. Every time I have performed this, people just have the feeling that it is fake. I get a better reaction with a spoon handle I broke off that is white on one side, and multi-colored on the other. If someone were to ask me to recommend this version of the HotRod, I would have to say, "Buy one that is more examinable, the effect is great, but is deminished if you want to hand it out for inspection." For $25 (I got it for $20), it would be better to buy the standard hotrod for $8, and be more comfortable handing it out to a layman.

Hi Shane and welcome to this board.

Forgive me but I am unfamiliar with this effect. Is there any chance you could give us a quick review of the trick. You don't need to go to the review section if you don't want... just post below.

Many thanks... Tony

Yes, Shane. I think it is fairly important to hand out the Hot Rod for inspection. And the reasons you list (the gimmick not quite setting right every time) is the reason I use a cheap little black (un-gimmicked) Hot Rod with color gems on it.
