If anyone has seen this program, recentley aired on channel 4.

There was a trick in which david blaine got a guy to sign a card and asked him to eliminate suites. He then made the deck appear to sink and vanish the cards.

does anyone know what this effect is, and if so where i could learn/purchase it. I know there is something similar to this by Dan Hauss. And something by Daniel Garcia. But i dont belive this is the same?

Not sure what you mean by sink the cards. I have not seen the show but there is a miriad of ways to do the rest of what you describe.

Basically the guy picks a card, blaine tells him to eliminate the suites which the card is not apart of, he then says he will remove thatt particular suite from the packet so forth so forth, he then literally melts the deck down to just 5 cards (his suite) and shows the spectators and hands then out.

It is the same looking effect as by dan haus or daniel garcia, both adaptations used in a ambitious card routine, allow both of these effects would not allow them to hand the cards to the spectator.

You would really need to watch what is magic i guess, there are parts 1 2 and 3 up on youtube and also last time i looked if you live in the UK you can watch it on 4od.

allow this is the same princible they could not be handed out to a spectator afterwards.

I've not seen the video because I YT is blocked. Lennart Green has an effect where he can instantly go form a full deck to a certain number of cards (sounds like it could be similar). Its on GM somewhere, I can't remember which volume.

I believe it is an effect called 'Compression', by Doug Mckenzie and Dan White.

I think I saw the same Blaine trick you are mentioning. I must say it is a great effect, I will have to look into Compression, I love really visual stuff like that.
