I'm Kelz (obviously) I'm 19 and live in Queensland Australia.
I have alway liked magic and tried to figure out every trick I see since I first saw "Magic's Greatest Secrets Revealed" as a kid, but I have only recently started doing tricks myself. Mostly card tricks so far but I have been practicing sleights in the mirror over the last couple of days and my friend and I spent a couple of hours last week on the cups and balls and we have gotten to the point where we can fool my 15 year old brother and 91 year old grandfather, not the greatest acheivment I know but it's something
I am a huge Penn and Teller fan, well as big a fan you can be living in Australia where they are virtually unknown. My best friend and I are doing a cosplay (yep I cosplay...I'm a nerd...lol) as Penn and Teller (with myself playing Teller) in about 6 months time providing we are prepared well enough or it will have to wait until the following year. Oh I should mention we are going to be a female version as well. Ra, my mate was joking about calling ourselves Penny and Taylor
I'm currently working on some props for Penn and Tellers knife through the hand card trick (I appologise if the credit should be going to someone else here) that we will be performing on stage as part of our cosplay, and for cutting a friends pet snake in half and restoring it. I have also been working on vanishing a lit cigarette into a closed fist, it that always done with a gimmick?? Like I said I am still a newb.
I was going to do a thumbcuff escape as well but I found out today that pocessing thumbcuffs is illegal here in Queensland
Well thats all I can think of at the moment, I'm off to trawl through the forum now and soak up all the info I can.
I'm looking forward to getting to know people here and furthering my meager skills.
