Hi I love the idea of the ACAAN effect.
I currently use the Grail by Mike Rose which is my favourite and also have David Forrest's Autobahn and Route 01 which I have never performed. Any other recommendations please?
Marc Paul has Affected by Berglas. I would love to see a review of this if anyone has it.

Eddie Burke has an excellent version that can be done with a borrowed pack.

Hi Tomo
That sounds really bold. Do you know what it's called?

I've got Affected By Berglas. The compromises are in the card selection and deck handling, but it's a nice enough approach.

I ordered ABB thinking it was the technique that Marc Paul used on Parkinson (in what was probably an honest misunderstanding, one of the sites was using a video of it to promote ABB). It's not, so don't expect it to be as clean as that.

If the spectator doesn't engage in the effect,
then the only thing left is the method.

My personal favorite of impromptu ACAAN-versions (borrowed deck, mixed by the spectator) is Bill Goldman's wonderful "One for the Money".

As I already said in this thread, even if you eventually don't like the revelation part of his routine, his way of controlling the spectator's card without touching it is brilliant in it's simplicity and convincibility!

Th.

I also love the Al Koran and Knock 'em Dead ideas. Although they are not examinable the spectator gets to handle the cards quite freely.

Your other thread is in a special Access area so can't read it. Will look it up though so thanks.

And of course the Barrie Richardson version is a great impromptu one. Very clever. I've also just been reading his Act 2 and he has a stage version in there which is excellent.

An opportunity for a little plug: I use my own version, called CRacaan. It is the "bonus effect" which is part of the Crossroads book that just came out, by Ben Harris. There are downsides and advantages to every method. I like this one, because the deck is in the spectators hands BEFORE a card is selected, and you NEVER touch the deck.

With you there, and his ideas on the misdirection opportunities as the trick progresses are good too.

Like Mr. Grue, I was also influenced towards Affected by Berglas by the Parkinson clip :?
There's an interesting ACAAN or more correctly pseudo deck memorization routine listed in Corinda (PHOTO-MEMORY by Hans Trixer, pages 308-9). You can play around with it in various ways

I have to agree.

I love Barrie Richardsons Card At Any Number. Well worth the asking price for soemthing you will be performing for the rest of your life with a borrowed deck.
