Postby Allen Tipton » Oct 13th, '09, 14:34

There is a CD, priced 99p plus postage put out by

Happy Slapper1.. from Nottingham, on E Bay
Ellie Maes
and possibly a Paul Bodkin

The plans are detailed versiins of 12 major illusions.

Do any of you guys know who these people are?

Hmm ... had a quick scout round the website, looked decidedly dodgy with ropy ebooks and how to become a plumber cd-roms ... everything seems to be way too cheap ...

The seller seems to specialise in CDs of information, perhaps a word with ebay to suggest they ask if the Illusion CDs are original or copies? I don't have much knowledge of the availibilty of such things but I don't recall mentnion of, or seeing, a CD of plans like that. There are certainly scanned books on line which give these sort of details but those are usually PDF downloads.

12 Illusion Plans for 99p

They are indeed pirate copies.
The thieves had also copoied them direct using the well known designers label, his writing, his illustrations & even his intitials on them.

He wrote to me several days ago about them.

BUT WHO ARE THEY? WHAT ARE THEIR ADDRESSES.?

I think elliemaes is just a distributor.
It is Paul Bodkin & Happy Slapper1 -- a very appropriate name!
I wish to know about

Starting point would be a report to ebay making the complaint that they're selling knock off copies.

Paul Bodkin is listed on the whois database as having the contact address:

Registrant's address:
PO Box 19184
Thamesmead
London
SE28 0WQ
United Kingdom

Which doesn't help you much. Ebay is your best way forward. They are fast and killing pirates.

Also

http://www.physorg.com/news172505746.html

but then

http://www.weblaw.co.uk/articles/ebay_e ... liability/

It's a very tricksy issue. However, I would go for

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/contact_in ... tatic.html

and complain directly to get their auctions banned.

It won't stop the piracy, nothing ever will, but it will at least stop that seller being able to use ebay to flog "his" goods.
