I'm not sure what's funnier, deliberately coming up with obviously false lies about celebrities to see if tabloids will print them, or the lies themselves

Pail Daniels has suffered at the hands of unprincipled hacks making up stories and printing them as fact more than once or twice in the past few years. The rule seems to be 'Why let the truth get in the way of a top selling story?'
