In case anyone is interested (if not, don't read):

Youtube has a filter that prevents showing content if it does not like your IP address.

This proxy service http://www.gizlen.biz/ will bypass that filter. *But for gawd's sake don't use it for anything private*

FreeDownloadManager will enable you to save the content to your hard disk and convert it from .flv to .avi (or you can use FormatFactory).
