A remote control in the shape of a wand. Gestures generate key presses: http://thewandcompany.com/

If only I had a TV, and a lot more money.

I do have an infrared receiver for my computer though, sure there could be plenty potential fun to be had...

I really shouldn't be thinking about how to control my light switches from the computer now...

Well, I do have a a telly, just not plugged in to anything other than the playstation and the laptop, so no TV license to pay...Not much channel changing though...

Between iplayer, itvplayer and 4od, there's not much else to see...Unless you have sky I guess...

Nah, you need a TV license to watch TV as it's being broadcast.

Catchup services don't count.

Checked with the licensing dude when he was round...

Though how they're going to police whether people are watching live with iplayer is a different question. I'll be very pi**ed off if they say I need a TV license just for having internet access because I could use it to watch live TV...

I'm not going to argue with you, but I doubt your recall.

blimey! it used to be that the tv licence was danced around with "its a licence to recieve the signals, not whether you are watching the tv or not..."

on the subject of the wand can it only operate on a t.v or can it work on a computer as well? (This technology might as well be magic as far as I'm concerned).

That's interesting. I withdraw my previous comment. Very interesting indeed.

According to their website, it should work with anything that uses a standard remote control.

I want this SO MUCH but can't afford it. No room on the coffee table for it anyway.

This is a recent change. The last time I checked (prior to just now), the rules were different. I guess the BBC is taking a while to adjust to the inkernec.
