Hi Guys,

After a lecture from Steve Beam not so long ago, I have decided (after much deliberation) to go down the road of memorised deck work.
The stack I have decided upon is the Aronson stack I have seen mentioned on this and other forums. I have settled on this over the Tamariz ‘mnemonica’, Si Stebbins and other stacks I have read about as it seems the one that most appeals to my personality and way of working.
I would be grateful if you could point me in the direction of any material that teaches how to set up and memorise this stack. I am also looking for material on its applications like, prediction, revelations, ACAAN, etc.
Your help would be greatly appreciated…as always!

I only know this because I am teetering on the brink of buying this or mnemonica. Michael Close recommends Aronson, but then goes on to say that it took him six years' practice to get it right. Whatever happened to "instant magician, just add money" that these dealers promise us?

As far as memorised stacks go I'm Mnemonica all the way. "One is the four of clubs, two is the two of hearts, blah blah blah".

Same here Stoner, but it does make me wonder that 90% of the Professional card men I know use the Aronson stack instead.

I'm a Mnemonica boy too. Love being able to shuffle to the stack with a borrowed deck under people's noses.

As for Close's "six years" statement, I think he's talking about the instantaneous recall. It wouldn't have taken him six years to get the basic stack down, but it may have taken him that long to reach the point where the mnemonics fall away and you just instantly get the number or card that you want, and you stop needing to cover over those little micropauses of mental work.
