Struggling with an effect? Any tips (without giving too much away!) you'd like to share?

An example.
I was doing Cassidy's "The time/the place" with an instant access CT (Scatter Thought- can't do that smushing of the PCT etc) with a couple I know (only recently together).
The first bit of info I got was the name- Agatha Christie. I like to be off a bit with the reveal as it comes across as "more real" and gives me motivation to look at the billet (the one that hasn't been destroyed). So I wrote "Hercule Poirot" and when I received the second piece of information I was pleasantly surprised. I discovered that the woman had written "Corsica- France". So my sideways leap had provided a bridge between the two bits of info.
The guy is someone who will always try and use logic to figure things out- he does this whenever I show them some mentalism (sometimes he's actually pretty close and so it makes me have a good look at my presentations). This time however there was no "figuring" but they spent about 20 mins talking about how they were obviously very "in tune".
I just sat there and let them have their time (which was hard as I thought I'd been bloody brilliant).
So I recommend keep trying out that intuition/guesswork/latent psychic ability as sometimes it's dead on!
Cheers

Or just remain ready to cash in on any coincidences that occur. That's safer, although it's not always easy to do so slickly.
