New Who

Nobody's mentioned last night's Doctor Who yet.

Am I the last remaining nerd on the board???

Personally, I loved it, despite the fact that the central plot was far too similar to The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit.

But the moral quandry was very nicely done, and the water aliens were nice and creepy.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. :)

Yes, thought it was wonderful! The last 10 minutes took it from being good to being great IMHO. Hurrah!

I wonder when they'll play it in the US. Tho how does Donna come back, didn't say if she remember anything she'll pretty much implode or something.

Have to agree on the Impossible Planet/Satan Pit thing, Were they the same episode i can't seem to differentiate between them or were they a to be continued kind of deal? A thoroughly well done Who monster though, i thought with the water pouring out, and the Doctors power trip at the end and resulting slice of humble pie was most enjoyable!

The plots being a little alike, was probably deliberate.

The Impossible Planet and Satan Pit were two halves of a two-part story.

I noticed that the Doctor was wearing the same space suit at the beginning of the new episode that he had in the Satan Pit (did he take it as a souvenir??), so they were probably well aware of the similarities from the outset.

Nerd, Moi? Nah!!

Well, I enjoyed it anyway! Certainly a different direction in terms of the plot and one which is presumably intended to pave the way for the new guy taking over.

It would be exciting to see the new guy start off on a maniacal power trip like we saw at the end of last night's episode, but I doubt they'd want to make him quite so unsympathetic - first impressions and all that....

Can someone please answer this question - the captain of the Mars camp was inspired to go into space after seeing a Dalek. Any idea which episode this was supposed to be?

As far as I can remember it wasn't in any previous episode - just another hitherto unbroadcast event in Who history!
