Best Losander Table?

Postby magicboygibson » Nov 18th, '09, 23:49

Hi all,

Just wondering doe anyone know weather it is best to get the beginner floating table for 600 dollars or the basic table for 1000 dollars (losander).
is the gimmick the same on the beginners, and is the effect as good?
I have enough for either, but if there is not much competition between the two then I'll just go for the cheaper one.
I've noticed that not a lot of people have the beginner table.

thanks a lot

Although I don't have one of these yet, like most things I would plan to buy once and I guess that means going for the best that you can afford.

If you get the beginner table then it's a sure fire bet that you will want a better one at some stage so you may as well go for it sooner rather than later.

From what I've been told by people who do have one, the difference is in the design and finish, not the operation and method.

Losander offers a very good deal where if you buy any table and you later want to upgrade, he will take the price of your current table off of the one you want to upgrade to if you send in yours.

Hi Chris

When you consider that their is an upgrade option available, also consider the cost of shipping your table back. They are not light and cheap to send. So is it worth it for us in the UK?

Yes the table is light, but it does come in a flight case for security.

There is a great saying used by Owen Magic that goes something like this...
"Anyone can by a piano but few will invest in a Stineway..."

The magical entertainer's greatest challenge when it comes to his/her TOOLS is finding the most deceptive (clean), best made, durable (reliable) devices out there. If you are a serious performer that's going to be doing a dozen or more shows a month you can't afford second best... understand however, this does not mean that you must always pay the top end price; shopping is always wise in that a system that we think to be "the best" based on popularity may not be appropriate to our needs and style of work.

To me the Losander table is a beautiful ZOMBIE variant -- an obvious magician's trick. For this reason it is not practical to how I work or the AFFECT I'm seeking on my audience. That is why I use a rather primitive approach with a non-gimmicked table in which it raises but a few inches from the floor and then drops back down... in my particular arena this is far more appropriate -- spooky -- something I'd loose quickly should I start doing the Waltz with said table

The Moral of the Story is... stop and consider the over-all affect you are looking to create with the effect. There may be something that's far more reasonably priced and of sound quality on the market that would better suit your situation.

OK I just got it.
I settled on the basic model the 1000 dollars and got to speak to losander himself about which one to buy he said either are very good but the 1000 dollar model is a bit more sturdy so you can put things on it and it looks much heavier too.

I'll tell you how it is when it arrives.

all the best.
