I'm not sure if any of you can help on this but our Eco7 System has suddenly stopped heating up the water overnight.
The day time "peak rate" switch still works which leads me to believe (hope) it might be something as simple as requiring a new fuse but I understand that there are generally two heating elements for an Eco 7 system, one at the top and one at the bottom which might mean the element is gone.
I won't be able to check it over properly until after work this evening but if someone can give me some pointers as to what I should be looking for (and if it is just a fuse where it's likely to be located), it would be much appreciated. The system is only two and a half years old so it seems unlikely an element would have gone in such a short space of time but to be honest this is not something that I really know anything about!!

It could be anything but when I had economy 7 the element at the bottom of the water tank / boiler used to get eaten away fairly quickly by our hard water. I had to replace it twice in 7 years. Very easy to do but a pain as you have to drain the entire tank first to get to the bottom element.

Thanks.
I assume I unscrew the bottom casing and pull the element out, unscrew it then pop it back in?
Do you know how much it will cost roughly?

It was a long time ago that I had economy 7 so I don't know current costs but the element itself is fairly cheap. If you get a plumber to do it the cost skyrockets
