Black Tiger Bicycle Deck.....

Postby maRk tHE mAGicK » Sep 10th, '04, 17:26

Ok Ok, I know there is a huge thread in the reviews section about these, but it might never get read at the end......

In the first tiger deck I had, I was playing around, fanning the deck, with the offset Ace of Spades and normal 3 o' clubs, and noticed one of the jokers was a little flimsy. I looked at it, and just by bending it slightly, the whole card popped open!!!! so it was like a book attatched in the middle by a seam, and you can close it up and sticks together again!!

Is this purposely done, or do I have a faulty joker?? Maybe its for a trick?

(Its from the first batch as well i think)

Mark :)

Intriguing! You might be able to make good use of that Joker - have a look at http://www.allmagic.com/magicshow/cards ... tion1.html for one idea!

i would say its just a faulty joker since ive never heard anyone else mention it and the first edition never had the skewed ace... that was introduced in the second edition

I read recently in another thread (think it's the review of the Demon deck) that the Bicycle card manufacturers have have stopped these cards from being made (or are trying to stop them) as they use their design in an unapproved way.

I have heard today but have been unable to verify that the same has happened with Black Tigers. I've been told by my local magic supplier that the main UK distributors (think he said Murphy's) have withdrawn this product from sale and they're no longer available. Apparently they have been produced without the necessary permission from Bicycle.

Is anyone able to verify this?

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!
