compression effect help?

Postby Killahbscs » Nov 29th, '09, 13:47

ok there was some issues with his dvd not being released by dan white because of copywrite issues and who actally claims this effect. it is featured on david blaine's what is magic. as i understand from research it is also called That shrinking deck effect is more commonly known as the Inflated Deck concept, originated by Lin Searles. It was first published in the 1938 and later re-popularized by David Harkey in his 2001 book. Gregory Wilson also used it and taught it in Pyrotechnic Pasteboards. It's a very, very simple and versatile concept that can be used for vanishing deck effects, Ambitious Card, etc. Recently, it's primarily been used as a throwaway sight gag. anyways i would like to know if anyone knows where you can learn this effect or has seen the pyrotechnic pasteboards or read either of thedse two books and could say that you can indeed learn this effect. ive tried on my own for hours with a pack of cards and i cant figure it out. its an effect i have wanted to learn for years to put into my routine and make my own version of the trick thank you

There are a few effects that do the exact same thing. Harkey teaches the effect in one of his books and I think a few other people do as well.

Lennart Green showed me an Impromtu version using a borrowed deck. Not sure if it's been published..I'll do some looking...
