Changing Bands on a F. Coin

Postby The Last Deck on the Left » Nov 26th, '09, 21:32

Hi there,

I've searched thorugh the forum but can't find any answers - so here is my question.

I've recently bought a double f. coin. One of the bands has snapped. I have a few spare ones, but am really struggling to put a replacement back on. It's a standard coin with the B. going around the edge on the outside.

Any tips?

Thanks guys,

Put the band around the middle segment first then pop the side bits in.

If you run out of the bands, go talk to you local dentist, he will give you thousands of them.

Hope that helps

Mark

Hi there,

Thanks for the tip - I'll try that.

I did wonder if they were the same as the ones that I had on my braces when I was younger :-)

Yep - exactly the same

My auntie is a dentist, so I have access to all the bands and dental dam I could ever need! haha

Another tip. When you change the band make sure the grove is really clean. Usually the band will break because they are decomposing and they leave parts of themselves behind which can cause problems with the new band.

Otherwise yes, start with the middle segment.
