That sound like too generic a name.

Where have you seen this effect ?

can you post a YouTube link and then someone here may be able to recognise it and recommend a suitable book.

Is this what you mean http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZE9Zp8q6mQ8
Its called Coincidence and Luck, but the video doesnt credit the originator. I had never seen (or heard) of this before so dont know what book etc to recommend, looks pretty basic though. Maybe someone else here will be familiar with it and could point you in the right direction. Nice effect. jim

That was a god awful presentation.

The effect itself is technically nice, but logcially it is just ridiculous. I'll shuffle the cards, oh right yeah by the way there is a perfectly centered prediction...ermm, yeah that will come into it later. Ahh it doesn't add up.

I've seen Aldo Colombini do this live. And let me tell you it is a thing of beauty in his hands. This presentation was absolutly horrible and if Jim hadn't pointed out that it was Aldo Colombini I would have never recoginzed it.

Talk about destroying a good piece of magic by making it make no logical sense what so ever.

This is indeed by Aldo Colombini its from True Magic Volume 1 and its called Contact Colours. Aldo does a much better job in presenting this trick and Aldo does it slightly differently too. Surprisingly it is quite easy to do. No knuckle busting sleights at all.

Its here
