i saw a programe on the tv i think it was sky 1, there were loads of magic tricks on there and there was one where a magician levitated a table with no strings or anything! it came about a foot/2foot off the ground. does anyone know how i can do this!?

Hi! One of the first things to bear in mind about TalkMagic is that we don't give away secrets. The effect you refer to can be done in different ways and has been developed and evolved by several innovative magicians over the years. The secrets are theirs and only they can pass them on as and when they choose to do so.

Why not try figuring out a way to do it for yourself - just think sideways and forget what you think you see!

although you can buy ready made tables (not cheap!) there are several ways of doing this effect. If you taped the programme then watch it again and again and really think about it.

Englandboy,

You could always get a book on Origami and make a table out of brown paper, then levitate it with Bluetac.

Hmmmm, I think I've had enough wine tonight

my god tenko...your a genius...that gives me a great idea...haha...its one of my not so good ideas but wutever..here it is

make an origame table out of brown paper like mentioned and just have it sitting in plain view on a surface like a table or or wutever...then halfway through the act start talking about levitiation and ask if theyve seen a table levitate...after all the good patter say you'll show them and look around and try to find a table...even if theres tables around you...this would work well in a restaurant...then suddenly drop your eyes and look at your paper table...then you gotta have the most evil smile come across your face and suddenly the paper table starts rising...after the whole effect just grin like crazy :P

lol...I can just imagine trying to levitate a table with really strong IT.

"Now, to make this levitate, you have to walk backwards...er...pull backwards...er...pull on empty air...er...grunt...

Um... I meant an origami table...

However, maybe Yigal Mesika can have a look at maybe special edition Spider 'Furniture' Loops...

if the table was made if flash paper you could levitate it then vanish it in a balze of glory of course you would be escorted out of the resturant by the firebrigade into the welcome arms of the police, but boy you'd soon get into the papers.

Suggestion for opening patter:
'My Dad's so unlucky - he once opened a paper shop and it blew away. So, instead, he started making paper tables and here's the very first one.....'

...cue magicdiscoman's 'burning table routine' (police and fire brigade pre-notified, obviuosly, we don't want any trouble here, officer), then, no sooner has it gone up in flames, the magician shows the audience a silk with a picture of a table on it. He puts the silk in a change bag... et voila! A full-size picnic-bench, complete with plates, cutlery, cheese rolls and a flask of tea!

It was good right up to the words 'full-size,' wasn't it... sorry...
