You should come and watch it in the Czech Republic if you haven't already, it's the national sport here, they have very good teams.

Not keen on watching sport in general myself, but hockey is definitely in the same league as rugby (also watchable), miles better than that girlie game of football

Don't get me started on football! It has to be one of the most unprofessional sports around. What with players using their hands to assist the ball into the net, faking injuries to get a free kick or penalty, and general cheating all round. Boo! Hiss!

My best friend spent a year in Liberec and the only game that was on while I was there was Liberec vs Prague, which apparently was a huge game and we could not source tickets!

The only interesting teams for Ice Hockey in the Olympics are Czech Rep., Slovak Rep., Canada and the US. The Russian side used to give a good show of things as did Sweden but I don't find their play style as exciting these days.

Yes it's hard to get tickets to the big matches. I remember watching the final CR vs Canada in a local pub back in 2005, I had just arrived here.

The game was huge and CR wiped the floor with Canada. Have to say they didn't loose graciously.

It was something in the office the following day (at the time I worked for a Canadian firm- Corporate got an earache for a month    )
