Amusing day

Postby Chris » Dec 7th, '09, 10:34

So on Sunday I was invited along as a guest to entertain at a Christmas fair at a stately Hall. I arrived very tired from the nights previous gig and was surrounded by kids visiting Santas grotto.

Now for those of you who know me, I dont do kids magic, have nothing to say to them and struggle to entertain them. Well I wasnt overly happy as i thought it was an adult based kinda xmas fair.

After about an hour and several coffees later, I for some unknown reason got my pack of balloons out of the boot and my pump! I thought well now seems a good time to learn balloon modelling.....OMG

I was stuck in the fit of giggles for two hours as I had giant Q of kids wanting dinosaurs Tigers giraffe poodles etc etc....So I said I could only make dogs but I would give it a try...

I think every kid walked outta there with either a long necked blue spotted giraffe/dinosaur or a one legged poodle....It was awesome, this welsh kid wanted a dragon (he got a poodle with one big long ballon across is front legs "wings") I had a right laugh...although my balloon work needs some practice.

I wanted to do some balloon modeling once (for my sins), if you have any interest then I recommend you check out Graham Lee's Balloon Jam sessions. I no longer do balloon modeling myself but I could if I needed to thanks to that.
