Clear Elastic Thread/String

Postby Yano » Dec 13th, '09, 10:01

Hi I'm trying to find some clear elastic thread/string, but i was wondering is this sorta thing only available at magic stores? Or would they be in general stores as well?

This i what i found so far i was wondering is this the right sorta thing? Is .5mm thin enough? or are the ones used in magic thinner? I basically want the same thread as used in "Blink"
.5mm Clear Elastic

You are talking about elastic sewing thread.
This is available in the haberdashery of - I guess - every average store.
In Germany a coil of this thread isn't more than 2,- €.

It is exactly the same material like this one, ...

... available from Craig R. Dickson (wizardcraft.com):

Next to last entry on the page.

The material of this thread is PADh-Polyamid; look at a appropriate reference on the wrapping.

Cheers
Th.

I think maybe the thing you are looking for and what Thomas suggested are two different critters... I use both and the clear nylon "Invisible-Thread" used by seamstresses is not the same as the "Elastic" style of IT used for making loops.

Yes, you can make the elastic type of IT yourself provided that you are very patient. On the other hand, you can likewise obtain exceptionally large spools of the stuff via Paper Crane Productions. I'm not certain how they list it but they offers large spools because of one of their popular PK routines and how it can be pre-set.
