Hi Everyone,

Has anyone got anything on this, did anyone go to the magic live convention and see this in action?

Looks like fun.

It's being kept somewhat shrouded in Mystique... let's face it, we're talking about a real Golem here.

I don't believe they start shipping before next week or something. I've got a chum that's ordered one... I've got my fingers crossed he's ordered a second one for my birthday

I read that they started advertising this a little early and the fully working package isn't quite ready yet.
It does look amazing though, can't wait to see one in action. If it manages to live up to the hype then it's going to be quite a beautiful thing to see.

Do you think the release date of April 1 could be a hint that it's never going to be released? April fools day and all that?

YES.
I was thinking this..
Fact is, no matter how much I want this effect to be true, it sounds completely impossible.
Mind you, you can order it from Paul Harris's website so maybe not unless it's not only a joke but a con as well.
Has anyone actually ever seen this being performed. There is mention of watching a demo on the website but there is no link for it.

I asked them about the video back in September and the lady who replied said they would have a video up "shortly". They're obviously behind schedule right now. I doubt very much if it's a practical joke or, worse, a con because Paul Harris's name is associated with it.

I don't think it's a con, nor a practical joke really, more of a lesson in magic, something along the line of "think about what magic would really look like if it existed and try finding ways of making it happen for yourself " Maybe Mr Harris has already made enough money for himself and is thinking of retiring, leaving the community with a lasting pearl of wisdom

Or maybe he's just really good at marketing

I agree.
Don't think it will go down very well though if this turns out to be true.

No matter what delay may have been caused in the mass production of the effect there is no possible reason for there not to be a demo. Surely there must be a working prototype. No one could try and market an effect that has NEVER been performed.
There are endless examples of people in magic throwing an idea out in to the community for an effect which they have no idea how to perform and seeing what people come up with. This seems like a very strange way of going about it.

If dealers have this on pre-order then I just can't see how this could be a joke or a lesson in the creation of magic. That would be taking things too far.

Sounds like a good marketing ploy - get the magic fraternity built up into a frenzy and then release it at a premium price. I sincerely hope its worth all the hype or those that are keen to be the first may be disappointed...
