PK Ring to stop a watch, how to present it :)

Postby Eshly » Dec 19th, '09, 14:13

I've been working on both close-up Mentalism and Stage Mentalism plans recently; and I was considering the possibilities of a PK ring the other day, mostly for the ability to stop watches.

How can this be presented in a convincing manner, so not as to seem a mere magic trick, but a mental illusion?

And ofcourse any other suggestions for close-up illusions are welcome :)

I'm sure I remember Mr Zenon doing a version where he stopped his pulse at the same time as the watch stopping, and then ignoring the world for a good few seconds...

stopping time as a whole is always a good way to present it... it depends on what your routine is and how and when you wanna bring it in.

I cant remember any names right now, but jay sankey sells a trick in which an object (watch?) is placed on a dollar bill and when you take your hand away, the dollar bill, and the object stay suspended (not levitating, but the end with the watch stays up, while your free hand holds the other end.) and if you "stopped time" at the same moment as letting go of one end of the bill it would be quite impressive-alternatively I have found that with a little practice the watch can be made to tick BACKWARDS, and if you say, bent a spoon, then turned time backwards you could at the same time maybe make the spoon bend back into its original state.
