I have designed a trick and would like your opinions and tips to make the trick as great as possible.

An empty stage is shown.
Two assistants bring in a large board (big enough for me to fit on).
Two assistants bring in a large curtain (big enough to cover the board).Two assistants hold up the board, while the other two strap down my wrists and ankles and neck. A spectator is chosen to check that all straps and locks are secure.
The curtain is then held up for two or three seconds. When it is dropped, the board is revealed empty with me vanished.
The curtain is then held up again, for two or three seconds. When it is dropped, I'm standing there completely free.
I'm not going to reveal any secrets (if you know alot about vanishes and escape artists, you can probably figure it out).

Would you consider that an impressive trick to see done?
Also, are there any extra tricks/effects I could add to improve the trick?

I can't seem to remember where I got the idea for this.
I remember, I was talking on the phone and suddnly it just happened.
I can't wait to get it set up and perform it!

Wouldn't it make more sense to swap the last 2 phases around? It is then an escape then a vanish, rather than a vanish and reappearance.

Well, with the way the vanish and escape happen, switching them can't be easily done. If you don't understand, and you really wanna know more about it, feel free to PM me.

I'm with Lawrence on this one. So what if you come back unchained. You escaped already of course you are unchained. Logically it doesn't make any sense. Kind of like the head chest illusion. 'I know I'll put my assistants head in the box, close the box, stab knives throught the box then open the box and her head is gone'. well if the head is gone why in heck did you bother to stab knives through the box? Sorry one of my pet peeves is that magicians in general don't really think about what they are doing. It doesn't matter if it is not that easy to change around. It doesn't have to be easy.

Yes this has been done time and time again, but as long as you do it well and it entertains who cares. Good luck with it, but think about it. Let us know how it works out.
