First off, no, it's not my real name. Saint Adel is just what I use on stage and online.

So, I've been really into illusions for most of my life. But this past year, I've gotten into them more than usual. I have a whole arsenal of grand effects, don't get me wrong. But I don't really know these little abbreviations you guys are using. For example, I'm seeing ACR a lot. And I keep seeing s**p, e*****c, etc. Why are those words like that? I'd be grateful if somebody could fill me in.

I guess you guys will wanna get to know me. Call me Saint, or Adel, whichever. I (unfortunately) live in Tennessee in the US. Let me just say, living in the south sucks. But that's off topic.

I'm really into street magic. Criss Angel, David Blaine. I love being able to do things impromptu. But lately I've been starting to move into stage acts instead. I actually just designed two tricks. If you like I can tell you about them.

My favorites are Criss Angel, David Blaine, Penn & Teller, Seigfreid & Roy, Jeff McBride...

I'm not only a magician though. I also sing and play guitar. Both are extremely fun.

Well, I'm dragging this article pretty far. I guess I'll shut up now. Just wanted to introduce myself and get to know you guys.

Welcome to TM, Adel!

Most of the abbreviations used on here are related to very common practices and routines in magic. If you run across any you don't recognize, try the search function.

Also, when you see the use of "***" not used to mask profanity, it's to minimize exposure, since we don't do that here in TM-land.

For example: a common magical move like the Rachel Eye Roll would need to be typed as "R****l E** R***" so those that are familiar with it will know what's involved without revealing that it's used in a routine to those who are not performers.

Hope this helps,

-Keith
