Christmas crackers?!?

Postby spooneythegoon » Dec 31st, '09, 12:47

As strange as it sounds, I found some brilliant magical uses for Christmas crackers. Not only the stuff inside them, although things like mini cards that no one suspects are gimmicked and boxes of very thin thread (you know what to do with it) are very useful, but I
think the "snap" bit could be very useful misdirection if employed in the right way  . So go and find some cheap in the shops, and start dismantling! Ive found all sorts of stuff that I can use for magic this year. :D

Specifically, look up silver fulminate and Peter Logan's exploding paste.

You need to be aware that the snaps in crackers, can burn. I had a rather nasty incident as a kid, that left me with a painfull burn on my throat for about 6 months, Caused, by me pulling a christmas cracker on my own.

That paints a remarkably sad picture Mr Shrimpton.

Hardly. there was an odd number of people, and an extra cracker.

others were arguing over it, so i decided to do it myself. and got burnt in the process.

Pulling your own cracker is alwasy risky... so they tell me.... Hobbycraft usually sell the bits and pieces to make crackers so the snaps might be available from them as separate items.
