Vernet still make the best TT?

Postby .robb. » Jan 12th, '10, 17:53

I'm looking for a couple of new TTs. Just plain Jane- no liners, writers, etc. Is Vernet still the way to go?

absolutly. you can get some that look more realistic, but whats the point? You dont see the things.
Vernet will take a ciggy, ( if you build up the ash first) they can be adapted to fit better if needed, and they are not overly expensive.

Vernet, Vernet, Vernet.

Never have I been more supportive of a product.

Too many people get hung up on the look of a TT. The nack is to forget you are wearing one.

(Note: Excuse the delay between posts - I've been away)

Do you have a standard sized T? I don't - so the answer for me has to be to go into a magic shop and ask for one that fits. The brand is immaterial - as the others say, it doesn't matter what it looks like.

There's also the question of hard or soft. One effect that I came up with only works with a hard one.

I prefer a soft tip for bill switches. Don't know why, probably because the first one I bought was a softie so I stuck with it. Hard ones for cigs though.

Time for a top tip! (pun intended...)

Take your hard TT, and a boiling hot needle and poke it through the end. This way, when your thumb is in it doesnt create a vacuum effect, meaning it will slide on and off a lot easier, and wont make that farty sound.
