Postby Lee Smith » Jan 24th, '10, 00:55

Hi Everyone,

Here is a trailer for my new 2 volume DVD which is called the STEP system and is produced by RSVP magic.

It's all about simple tricks extraordinary power, and me and Ravi Mayar go into huge detail on the effects what makes them so strong to a laymen and about aprroaching groups in different situations.

It will be being released at the Blackpool convention, where I will be on the RSVP stand so if your coming please pop over and say hi.

I will be happy to demo some of the effects.

Heres the link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mEdSFwmTKU

Many thanks,

Lee.

Nice one Lee and congratulations on your first DVD release.

I hope that it sells out Blackpool.

Thanks,

I hope it does well, the project is very different, we want to show people that you dont have to be complicated when you work to get strong reactions.

A bonus as well sis that almost every effect can be done with a borrwed shuffled deck and no gimmicks. :D

Congratulations Lee, looks like a great project.

On a side note, that is slightly creepy, I just woke up from a dream what consisted of me attending a lecture from you at Blackpool...it was so surreal.

send me a copy and I'll review it :-)

Seriously though - what Lee says is very true in that you do not need over complicated tricks to get great reactions when you're working. Often the 'real' magic is in the simplicity.

I have a view that lay people will dismiss things that are right under their noses because of the simpleness. They seem to believe that it's got to be something really clever and complicated to fool them.

If your timing and misdirection is right and you have the confidence then you can get away with almost anything. Beginners take note!

I've seen Lee work and while he has these skills and qualities he can and does get away without having to rely on them all of the time. A sign of a good magician and I'm sure that it will show through on these DVD's.

No problem, alot of the effects are based around the material in my lecure notes, this was the original inspiration for the DVD project. There is a list of the effects here -

http://www.walkaboutmagic.com/walkabout ... -notes.php

There are also a bunch of my own routines and ideas on the DVD's and some that are not in the the notes, all the effects are visual, non challenging to the audiance, and are fast paced, these are routine you can add to an existing reportoire.

The idea was to show people reacting in different situations and in differernt was to the same effects.

And all the effect can be done with sleights you will probably all ready use.

I hppe this helps.

Congratulations on this release Lee.

As someone who has experienced Lee performing some of these effects at the London meet I can assure anyone purchasing this DVD that you wont be disappointed. I particularly like the card under box routine which is ridiculously easy and effective.
Duped me completely.

The box routine has had so much interest I decided to put it on the DVD, (I nearly didn't, it is aslo an updated version from the one in the lecture notes) If anyone gets as much use from this routine as I have it will worth the price of the DVD alone.

I have also included a walkaround cards to pocket version of the same effect, So it can be done on the spot with no box and still get the same reactions.

Hi thanks,

The DVD will be being launched at the Blackpool convention next month, after that you will be able to get it anywhere, but RSVPmagic.com would be the best place to get it if your not at the convention.

If its more of the same kind of material that was in the lecture notes, I'll be getting this for sure. Exactly as magic should be, simple but effective! Good luck with the release Lee, can't wait!

Hi Matthiua88,

The lecture notes was the original inspiration for the DVD, then when we saw how many people was interested in this type of magic we had more routines to put on, so all the effects from the notes are on the DVD's as well as plenty more.

Lee gave me a sneak preview of some of this material last week. I can confidently say that this will be one of THE essential purchases of 2010 (alongside my forthcoming "magic meets hypno" ebook  ).

Disappointed to hear from Lee that it won't be a "boob-fest" like the recent JB "ProfOpp" DVDs, but always good to see some Ravi on there. His forthcoming project should also be top stuff.
